• Arrive early and double check you’re in the right room.
  • Calculator covers are not allowed in the exam leave it at home.
  • Don’t use library functions (like split(), min(), max() etc. )
  • Start with what you’re confident about
  • Time management is important. Once you get the question check how many questions you have and allocate chunks of time to it mentally. (example: 3 questions and exam time is 1hr 30mins → will spend no more than 30 minutes on each question).
  • If you are getting stressed about a question move on to another one. Managing your stress is also important.
  • For coding questions do very quick rough work breaking down the problem. This is to let you mentally check whether you are taking the right approach. If as your reading the problem you discover that you should actually check a condition before even checking the conditions you already put in it will be time consuming if you have to erase everything you wrote so far.
  • You can only get full in tracing if you include rough work and put your answers in the output box in the question itself. Make sure you add your outputs to the output box don’t just leave it in your copy.
